Arrests
A Morningview Avenue man, 58, was charged with rape and sexual misconduct with a juvenile.
A Weeks Avenue man, 18, was charged with theft, criminal mischief, obstructing official business and disorderly conduct after he allegedly broke into a car in the 1000 block of Stroman Avenue. He was arrested in the 900 bock of Hunt Avenue, where police reported seeing him dump a purse.
A Knox Avenue man, 33, was charged with receiving stolen property, misuse of credit card and forgery. Police said he had stolen credit cards — one of which he used three times, forging the name on the card.
A Madison Avenue man, 41, was charged with carrying a concealed weapon after police saw him hand something to a passenger in a car. When the car was stopped, officers found a .22-caliber pistol.
A Zesiger Avenue woman, 19, was charged with burglary after she allegedly broke into a home in the 2500 block of Zesiger and stole a television.
Two 17-year-old boys — one from Noah Avenue and the other from Homer Street — were charged with receiving stolen property and violating the juvenile curfew.
A Colonial Hills man, 34, was charged with domestic violence, molesting police property and disorderly conduct. He has convictions for domestic violence from 1997 and 2005.
A Grove Street man, 51, was charged with carrying a concealed weapon while intoxicated. Responding to a tip about a “man with a gun,” police reported seeing the man drinking a beer while sitting in the doorway of a home in the 500 block of Crosby Street. Officers reported finding a gun on the man.
A Hardesty Boulevard man, 34, was charged with possessing an illegal weapon after he allegedly threatened to shoot a woman with her gun.
A Forbes Avenue man, 24, was charged with receiving stolen property and obstructing official business after he allegedly tried to cash a stolen check at a check-cashing store at 1287 S. Arlington St. He told police that another man gave him the check and promised to give him $500 if he cashed it.
A Frederick Boulevard man, 51, was charged with breaking and entering after he allegedly broke the front window of Portage Service and Beverage at 183 S. Portage Path and stole six T-shirts.
A Brown Street man, 25, was charged with domestic violence after he allegedly assaulted a pregnant woman.

Arrests
An Akron woman, 23, was charged with theft, misrepresenting her identification, obstructing official business, possession of criminal tools and littering Aug. 31. Officers were called to Giant Eagle, 41 Fifth St. SW, after store employees said a woman stuffed meat into her purse and ran from the store. The woman threw the meat as she ran, a manager told police. Police arrested her on Fifth Street Northeast, where she allegedly gave a false name and Social Security number.
A Norton man, 27, was charged with obstructing official business and misrepresenting his identification Aug. 31. Police investigating a car break-in stopped the man, who gave them a false name. When police learned his identity, they found he was wanted in Tuscarawas County on an arson charge.
A 23rd Street man, 54, was charged with assault Aug. 30 after he allegedly spit on and struck a Benton Street neighbor who asked the man and his friends to quiet down.
An Auburn Avenue man, 40, was charged with domestic violence Aug. 30 after he allegedly threw a television at his girlfriend, injuring her shoulder.
A Fifth Street Northeast man, 56, was charged with assault, obstructing official business and possession of marijuana Aug. 28. He is accused of hitting his girlfriend twice in the face in a local bar. Police reported finding marijuana on the man.
An Akron woman, 20, was charged with telecommunications harassment Aug. 28. She is accused of calling an Akron woman three times after a police officer told her to stop.
A Fifth Street Southeast man, 35, was charged with public indecency Aug. 27 after he allegedly fondled himself inside Kmart, 241 Wooster Road N.
An Otterbein Avenue man, 44, was charged with felony domestic violence Aug. 27 after he allegedly assaulted his girlfriend.
Arson
Someone set a Chevy Impala on fire Sept. 1 in the 400 block of Harding Avenue. When the fire was extinguished, an officer reported seeing a racial slur spray-painted on the driver’s side.
Breaking and entering
Someone broke into Hycom Inc., 374 Fifth St. NW, Aug. 30-31. The burglar used the company’s tow motor to remove two large slabs of aluminum and scrap. The thief returned the tow motor to its parking place before leaving.
Burglary
Someone broke into a home in the 100 block of Oakwood Street on Aug. 31.
A television was reported stolen Aug. 30 from an apartment in the 80 block of 31st Street Northwest.
Someone stole a television Aug. 29 from a home in the 200 block of Morgan Street.
Nearly $500 worth of property was reported stolen from an apartment Aug. 28 in the 500 block of Florida Place.
Menacing
A Prospect Street man reported Aug. 28 that his brother made Facebook threats against the family. He said his brother was driving from Louisiana and he was afraid the family would be harmed.
Theft
An East Huston Street man reported Aug. 31 that someone stole his lizard. He suspected a relative.
Bath Township
Arrests
A man was evicted from the Courtyard Inn, 100 Springside Drive, and charged with disorderly conduct Aug. 28. Police said the man was intoxicated, yelling at a manager and drinking in a pool area with friends.
Vandalism
A real estate agent reported Aug. 30 that four signs on properties were vandalized with a permanent marker.
Copley Township
Arrests
Four men were charged after one allegedly brandished a gun in a Montrose West Avenue hotel lobby Aug. 20. An 18-year-old man was charged with theft of a motor vehicle, possession of drugs, obstructing official business, inducing panic and resisting arrest. He is accused of bringing a .22-caliber handgun to his sister’s birthday party at the Radisson Hotel, running through the lobby with the gun in his hand and brandishing it in front of a Crestmont Court woman. His father, 50, and a man, 34, were charged with tampering with evidence and obstructing justice after they allegedly hid the gun in bushes. A man, 19, was charged with underage possession of alcohol.
A Barberton man, 23, was charged with theft Aug. 25 after he allegedly stole an Apple iPad and accessories from Best Buy, 96 Rothrock Road.
Breaking and entering
Someone broke into nine storage units between July 26 and Aug. 26 at Copley Mini-Storage, 1020 Jacoby Road.
Theft
A Green Gable Trail woman reported Aug. 19 that someone illegally used her food-stamp card between Aug. 7 and 19. She told police she discovered the theft when she tried to use the card and found it had a zero balance.
Coventry Township
Arrests
A Dietz Avenue man, 33, was charged with assaulting a Denman Avenue man Aug. 25.
An Akron man, 47, of East South Street, was charged with forgery Aug. 25 after he allegedly tried to cash a fraudulent $650 business check at a FirstMerit bank on Manchester Road.
Cuyahoga Falls
Arrests
An Akron man, 21, of Beaver Street, was charged with carrying a concealed weapon and possessing a weapon as a felon Aug. 26. During a traffic stop on state Route 8, police reported finding the man had a loaded handgun and was previously convicted of drug trafficking.
A Tallmadge Road man, 26, was charged with two counts of child endangering Aug. 25 after she allegedly left two children alone in a home in the 500 block of Tallmadge Road.
Two 17-year-old boys, one of Portage Trail and one of Morrison Avenue, were charged with receiving stolen property Aug. 24 after they allegedly possessed dirt bikes reported stolen from Stow.
Fairlawn
Arrests
An Akron woman, 22, was charged with assault Aug. 24 after she allegedly spit on and struck a friend and pushed the friend’s 5-year-old daughter. The woman accused the friend of stealing money.
Menacing
A Walmart employee reported Aug. 24 that an angry customer threatened to return to the store and kill her.
Theft
A man and a woman are suspected of taking 16 pairs of women’s pants, total value $1,300, from the Ann Taylor store Aug. 25 at Summit Mall.
Green
Arrest
A Mayfair Road mother, 25, was charged with child endangerment after her son, 5, was found beside a pond at Prestwick Country Club near the family’s apartment.
Domestic violence
A warrant charging domestic violence and assault was issued Aug. 18 for an East Nimisila Road man, 25, who allegedly choked and punched his girlfriend in the 4800 block of Massillon Road.
Burglary
A disc changer and other items, total value $2,756, were reported stolen from a Beech Tree Drive garage Aug. 24.
Theft from elderly
An Elmhurst Circle man said jewelry and other items, total value $5,275, were stolen while home health care workers were at the residence.
Hudson
Arrest
An Akron man, 34, of Lake Street, was charged with aggravated robbery and failure to comply with the order of a police officer Aug. 17. He is accused of stealing a wallet, $10,000 Rolex watch and $500 wedding band in an armed robbery of a 71-year-old man. Police said the suspect led officers on a 25-minute chase through Stow, Silver Lake and Cuyahoga Falls before his car stalled at Lakeshore Boulevard and Ira Road in Akron.
New Franklin
Burglary
Someone broke into a South Cleveland-Massillon Road home Aug. 16 and stole two Masonic rings and other items, total value $1,850.
Breaking and entering
Electrical equipment and an air compressor, total value $750, were reported stolen Aug. 20 from a padlocked shed on Second Street.
Thefts
A Mogadore man said fishing equipment and other items, total value $1,785, were stolen from his boat Aug. 25 on State Park Drive.

Someone broke into a home Aug. 29 in the 5100 block of Taylor Road and stole jewelry, prescription medication, and a video game system, total value $10,000.
Theft
Prescription medication was reported stolen Aug. 29 from a car in a parking lot at 3200 Greenwich Road.

Arrests
A Ladd Street boy, 16, was charged with domestic violence Aug. 24 after he allegedly pushed his younger brother.
A Hayne Road man, 26, was charged with felony domestic violence Aug. 21 after he allegedly hit his girlfriend in the mouth and fled. He was arrested on Krumroy Road at Flickinger Road.
A Lakemore man, 34, of Lake Road, was charged with domestic violence Aug. 20 after he allegedly pushed his girlfriend, causing her to fall, and threw an ice pack that struck her face.
Domestic violence
A felony warrant was issued Aug. 22 for a Hillstock Avenue man accused of pushing his girlfriend to the ground.
Breaking and entering
Burglars stole 287 cartons of cigarettes and other items, total value $21,300, after cutting a hole in the roof of the Spee D Foods store Aug. 18 on Gilchrist Road.
Misuse of a credit card
A township resident told police Aug. 10 that her debit card was used without permission to make $779 in unauthorized purchases by phone or the Internet in Texas.

An Akron man, 55, of Annapolis Avenue, was charged with stalking, aggravated menacing and criminal trespass Aug. 24 in the 1000 block of South Munroe Road. Police said the man tried to purchase a gun and threatened to kill employees at P&P Mold and Die.
Theft
A 2002 Buick Regal was reported stolen Aug. 28 from the 1500 block of Brittain Circle.

A Miner Drive man, 61, was charged with menacing Aug. 26 after he allegedly threatened a neighbor.
A West North Street man, 18, was charged with domestic violence Aug. 28.
A Wooster man, 22, was charged with assault and criminal damaging Aug. 26 after he allegedly assaulted his girlfriend in her Medina apartment.
A Lorain man, 41, was arrested Aug. 26 on a warrant charging him with threatening domestic violence.
Burglary
A Lincoln Street woman told police she awoke Aug. 27 and found a man in her home. The intruder fled with the woman’s iPhone.
An apartment in the 200 block of Abbeyville Road was burglarized Aug. 28.

Arrests
A homeless man, 23, whose last known address was on Olympus Drive, was charged with breaking into a building Aug. 20 at Haymaker Parkway and Willow Street.
A First Avenue man, 27, was charged with robbery Aug. 19 in the 1100 block of Lake Street.
A Lake Street man, 39, was charged with criminal damage and obstructing official business Aug. 24 during a domestic dispute in the 1500 block of South Water Street.

A Streetsboro man, 33, was charged with felonious assault Aug. 20. Reports said the man knocked his girlfriend to the ground, stepped on her neck, choked her, threw her back onto the ground and left. The woman was transported to a hospital after she went into seizures.
A Skeels Street man, 43, was charged with felonious assault Aug. 21 after he allegedly struck another man during a fight. The victim was flown by helicopter to Akron City Hospital, police said.
A Newton Falls man, 33, was charged with domestic violence Aug. 21 after he allegedly hit his girlfriend in the eye.
A Rootstown man, 55, was charged with domestic violence Aug. 21 after he allegedly choked his wife.

Identity fraud
A Tamwood Street resident said someone stole her identity to purchase a cell phone and run up a bill of $1,193 in Corpus Christi, Texas. She also said $515 worth of cable TV was stolen through Comcast Cable Co. in Olympia,Wash.

A Sunset Strip Avenue Northwest woman, 37, was charged with domestic violence after she allegedly assaulted her boyfriend.
A Canton man, 25, of Gross Avenue Northeast, was arrested Aug. 24 on a warrant charging him with grand theft.
A Woodlawn Avenue Northwest resident was charged with felony deception to obtain a dangerous drug Aug. 24.
Jackson police and Stark County sheriff’s deputies arrested two men in the theft of golf clubs from a Plain Township residence and attempted sale at Play It Again Sports on Belden Village Street Northwest. A Canton man, 18, of 20th Street Northeast, was charged with breaking and entering and felony receiving stolen property. A Canton man, 19, of Franciscan Street Northeast, was charged with felony receiving stolen property.
A Canton man, 18, of Indiana Way Northeast, was charged with felony robbery Aug. 18 after security officers at Sears in Westfield Belden Village Mall said he put on a pair of store-owned shoes and fled.
Thefts
Two employees at Speedway Food Mart on Fulton Drive Northwest were accused of using deception to redeem customer rewards points for gift cards valued at $2,495.
Someone stole a $1,500 laptop computer from a vehicle at Planet Fitness on Whipple Avenue Northwest.
A $1,400 speaker was reported stolen from a car parked Aug. 21 at Buffalo Wild Wings on Dressler Road Northwest.
A GPS system and other items, total value $1,070, were reported stolen Aug. 17 from a car at Intrigue Day Spa on Dressler Road Northwest.
A purse, federal check and other items, total value $4,200, were reported stolen Aug. 17 at In Motherhood Maternity on Belden Village Street Northwest.

A Begonia Avenue Northeast man, 19, was charged with domestic violence and disrupting public services Aug. 20 after he allegedly took a woman’s cell phone and threatened to harm her during an altercation.

A North Main Street woman, 19, was charged with domestic violence Aug. 21 after she allegedly scratched and bit her boyfriend.
Burglary
A $1,500 laptop computer was reported stolen Aug. 22 from an Everhard Road Southwest apartment.
A miter saw and other items, total value $880, were reported stolen Aug. 21 from a Penny Street Southeast garage.
Identity fraud
An Applegrove Street Northeast woman told police Aug. 23 that her debit card number was used without permission to make $820 in purchases in Michigan.
Theft
A gold chain and cross, total value $5,000, was reported stolen Aug. 21 from a triathlon participant’s bag.

A 33rd Street Northeast woman, 50, was charged with domestic violence Aug. 22 after she allegedly attempted several times to strike her boyfriend in the head.
A Millersburg man, 30, was charged with domestic violence and felony failure to comply with an officer’s order after sheriff’s deputies responded to a disturbance in the 2500 block of 45th Street Northwest. He was captured at Overbrook Avenue and Dennison Street Northwest after a brief chase.

A Heckman Street Northwest man, 49, was charged with domestic violence Aug. 25 after he allegedly tried to push a woman down several times.
An Apollo Street resident, 12, was charged with domestic violence Aug. 25.
A Barberton man, 27, of Stimson Road, was charged with felony grand theft Aug. 24 after he allegedly stole $7,000 worth of jewelry from his employer, Hartville Coin and Jewelry Co., on Edison Street during the week of Aug. 8.

Arrests
An East Union Township man, 41, was charged with felony domestic violence Aug. 29 after he allegedly assaulted his girlfriend, 32, at their home on East Lincoln Way.
A Congress Township man, 37, was charged with abduction Aug. 25 after he allegedly ordered an Akron man, 31, to get into a truck at gunpoint and demanded to be driven to a farm field, where he threatened to kill the man.

Three guns, total value $1,000, were reported stolen Aug. 26 from a garage in the 10000 block of West High Street, Green Township.
Theft
A purse with medications and a diamond ring worth $161 was reported taken Aug. 26 from the Wayne County Speedway, 1083 N. Carr Road, East Union Township.
Wooster
Arrests
Police charged a homeless woman, 25, and man, 28, with breaking and entering Aug. 26. They allegedly took vodka and a class ring from a home in the 3700 block of Cleveland Road.
Robberies
A woman, 24, told police that a man punched her twice and took $40 from her in a parking lot in the 300 block of East Bowman Street.
A boy, 14, reported Aug. 29 that a man in a ski mask struck him on the back of his head and demanded money as he walked in the 800 block of Nold Avenue.
Theft
A 1997 Honda valued at $2,000 was reported stolen Aug. 28 from a home in the 100 block of West North Street.
